As of 2021, there are approximately 200,000 Palestinians living in Germany. This community has grown over the years due to various factors such as political conflicts in the Middle East and opportunities for education and employment in Germany. Palestinians in Germany have established cultural and social organizations to support their community and maintain their heritage while integrating into German society. **

The Palestinians today live in a variety of different circumstances, depending on whether they are living in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem, or as refugees in neighboring countries or around the world. In the West Bank, Palestinians live under Israeli military occupation, with restrictions on their movement, access to resources, and ability to build homes and infrastructure. They face regular clashes with Israeli security forces and settlers, and many live in poverty. In the Gaza Strip, Palestinians face severe economic hardship due to the Israeli blockade, which restricts the flow of goods and people in and out of the territory. The population suffers from high unemployment, limited access to clean water and electricity, and inadequate healthcare and education services. In East Jerusalem, Palestinians face discrimination and threats of eviction from their homes by Israeli authorities, as well as restrictions on their ability to build or expand their homes. They also face challenges in accessing basic services and infrastructure. Palestinian refugees living in camps in neighboring countries or around the world face difficult living conditions, with limited access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Many have been living in these conditions for generations, unable to return to their homes in what is now Israel. Overall, Palestinians continue to face significant challenges in their daily lives, including ongoing conflict, displacement, and restrictions on their rights and freedoms. **

The question of whether Palestinians are oppressed is a complex and contentious issue. Many Palestinians and their supporters argue that they face systematic discrimination, restrictions on their movement, and limited access to resources and opportunities, particularly in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They point to the ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories, the expansion of Israeli settlements, and the lack of a viable path to statehood as evidence of oppression. On the other hand, some argue that Israel faces security threats and that its actions are necessary for self-defense.
